Hi and thank you for visiting my website. I hope to meet you in person soon, whether you have specific goals for which you want to use the power of hypnotherapy, or seek relaxation and rebalancing through reflexology.

People often ask what makes a hypnotherapist different from a hypnotist, and the answer is that the only difference is that a hypnotherapist uses hypnosis for therapeutic purposes, whereas a stage hypnotist uses the process for entertainment purposes.

I initially qualified as a hypnotherapist, by achieving the Diploma in Clinical and Advanced Hypnotherapy through the Washington School of Clinical and Advanced Hypnosis in Oxford in 2004, where I also qualified as a certificated Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner.

In 2004 I also completed the National Diploma in Hypnotherapy through the National Council for Hypnotherapy. This is a nationally recognised qualification, equivalent to NVQ Level 4 and is accredited through NCFE.

In 2008 I completed my diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (2008) This is an extension of hypnotherapy into the realms of psychotherapy, based on integrative theories and can be utilised for deeper problems than would be addressed by someone purely qualified in hypnotherapy.

I am currently studying for the Accreditation in Hypnotherapeutic Supervision with the UK Academy of Therapeutic Arts and Sciences and to become a Certified Instructor via the National Guild of Hypnotists (USA)

I am a Registered Senior Clinician (MNCH (Reg) Senior Clinician) member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and was elected  Executive Director of the organisation at the AGM, held in June 2006.

Working with this not for profit organisation has become increasingly important to me and they way I run my own practice, with the aim of ethical and brief, goal focused therapy - our stated goals are

  • To raise the standards of Hypnotherapy in the UK in every possible way.
  • To maintain a Common Code of Ethics and Practice & a Complaints & Disciplinary
  • Procedure to deal with complaints from any source.
  • To encourage high training standards and to move towards nationally recognised qualifications in Hypnotherapy.
  • To encourage links with other interested organisations and professions.
  • To provide a professional and unequalled service to its members, the public, the media, and affiliates.
  • To promote within the profession, the dissemination of information about Hypnotherapy through its Journal, Seminars and Conferences.

In relation to the provision of holistic therapies, I initially qualified with the Carlton School of Beauty & Holistic Therapies in 2004, in the areas of Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage and Body Massage.  I achieved The Awarding Body Consortium Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology, through the Oxford School of Reflexology in 2006 and am a member of the Association of Reflexologists. I have recently reduced the amount of body massage and aromatherapy massage offered, due mainly to wear and tear on my own joints! Prior to moving into the wonderful area of holistic therapy, I was a business consultant with a large corporate organisation, specialising in flexible working and change management for over 7 years and a project manager specialising in organisational development for some 12 years prior to this. You should be aware that The United Kingdom has not adopted any statutory educational and training standards for the practice of hypnotherapy, reflexology or massage and the information on this page is for informational purposes only.
