Hi and thank you for visiting my website. I hope to meet you in person soon, whether you have specific goals or issues requiring help via hypnosis or psychotherapy, or seek relaxation and rebalancing through reflexology.

People often ask what makes a hypnotherapist different from a hypnotist, and the answer is that the only difference is that a hypnotherapist uses hypnosis for therapeutic purposes, whereas a stage hypnotist uses the process for entertainment purposes.

I have been in practice as a hypnotherapist and reflexologist since 2004, and am qualified as a Psychotherapist, a Clinical Supervisor and a Certified Instructor for Hypnotherapy.  An outline of my career and qualifications as a therapist is provided below;

August - 2009 Registered with UK Council for Psychotherapy
January - 2010 Upgraded to MNCH(Acc) Senior Clinician membership of the National Council for Hypnotherapy

Until recently I undertook voluntary work with the National Council for Hypnotherapy, which is a not for profit organisation.  Although I have withdrawn from the Executive Committee, the organisation and it's goals are highly important to me and impacts on the way I run my practice, and assist my clients in terms of providing ethical and brief, goal focused therapy - our stated goals are

  • To raise the standards of Hypnotherapy in the UK in every possible way.
  • To maintain a Common Code of Ethics and Practice & a Complaints & Disciplinary
  • Procedure to deal with complaints from any source.
  • To encourage high training standards and to move towards nationally recognised qualifications in Hypnotherapy.
  • To encourage links with other interested organisations and professions.
  • To provide a professional and unequalled service to its members, the public, the media, and affiliates.
  • To promote within the profession, the dissemination of information about Hypnotherapy through its Journal, Seminars and Conferences.

In relation to the provision of holistic therapies, I initially qualified with the Carlton School of Beauty & Holistic Therapies in 2004, in the areas of Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage and Body Massage.  I achieved The Awarding Body Consortium Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology, through the Oxford School of Reflexology in 2006. I have recently reduced the amount of body massage, reflexology and aromatherapy massage offered, due mainly to wear and tear on my own joints! Prior to moving into the wonderful area of holistic therapy, I was a business consultant with a large corporate organisation, specialising in flexible working and change management for over 7 years and a project manager specialising in organisational development for some 12 years prior to this. You should be aware that The United Kingdom has not adopted any statutory educational and training standards for the practice of hypnotherapy, reflexology or massage and the information on this page is for informational purposes only.
