Together we make it permanent

Modern techniques of hypnosis and psychotherapy combine to make one of the most dramatically effective short-term therapies developed to date.  This means that many problems and issues can be transformed in a short period of time.

When you come to me with a problem or issue we will work together to resolve it.  I work with a range of problems, but specialise in HYPNOSIS for ANXIETY, WEIGHTLOSS and CONFIDENCE and REFLEXOLOGY which may help with a wide range of issues, both physical and emotional.

Like most hypnotherapists, I offer HYPNOSIS TO STOP SMOKING, however my single SMOKING CESSATION HYPNOSIS is followed up with a free top up session if required and an affirmation CD which enables clients to consolidate their

I also offer a special HYPNOSIS FOR NATURAL CHILDBIRTH programme, especially designed for the pregnant mum seeking a natural and joyous birthing event, with minimum medical intervention.

Many of my clients tell me that they prefer to discuss their issues with a female hypnotherapist, and I am happy to help with a wide range of issues.

Of course, if you have any questions about the therapies I offer and would like an informal chat about how they may help you, do give me a call or email - if I am with a client, please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I am free.

I work from The Abbey Centre in central Daventry and also from my home-based practice in the charming Daventry village of Charwelton, which is just 30 minutes away fron Banbury, Rugby and Northampton.  in Northamptonshire.  Both practices are very close to the Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire borders on the A361 between Banbury and Daventry in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hypnotists, Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy or Hypnosis is a completely natural process of using deep relaxation to allow you to make changes in how you deal with habits, feelings and situations.  It can help with confidence, reduce anxiety and help with personal goals such as stopping smoking, losing weight and being able to cope better in difficult situations.

What is the difference between a hypnotist and a hypnotherapist?

Hypnosis is the state of relaxation or trance that can be achieved by various methods - hypnotherapy is simply using hypnosis in a therapeutic manner. So a hypnotherapist is a hypnotist, but they use hypnosis to help clients achieve their goals, often learning the hypnosis technique for themselves in the process.

Will I lose control during the hypnosis treatment?

Absolutely not!  Whilst in hypnosis you are in full control and cannot be made to think, feel or do anything which you would not do under normal circumstances.  Remember I am a therapeutic hypnotherapist and do not participate in stage hypnotism - the purpose of our sessions together is to empower you, not to control or entertain.

What does hypnosis feel like?

Most people just feel really relaxed whilst in hypnosis.  Natural hypnosis is achieved by most people everyday in situations where they drift off or day dream.  Any time you notice that time is running away really quickly or dragging is a sign that you have been in natural hypnosis.

Will hypnosis / hypnotherapy work for me?

Hypnotherapy / hypnosis works for many people, who need help with a variety of issues including help to stop smoking, lose weight, reduce anxiety and stress, gain confidence or deal with fear or phobia.

What qualifications do hypnotherapists need to practice in the UK?

At this point in time hypnotherapists are not regulated in the UK - there is no Hypnosis UK - wide organisation that governs standards - that said The NCH, which is part of UKCHO is working towards regulation in line with the National Occupational Standards - I hope this happens soon, so that the public will be reassured and safe in the hands of only well qualified therapists. Definitions of my hypnotherapy qualifications can be viewed here. PNLP stands for Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming and MAR stands for Member of the Association of Reflexologists, DHP(NC) is a diploma in hypno-psychotherapy awarded by the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy - this qualification leads to registration with UKCP after 4 years post graduate development.

Frequently Asked Questions About Psychotherapy and Hypno-Psychotherapy

What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a a technique of helping clients address their issues by means of insight, persuasion, suggestion, reassurance, and instruction so that they are able to  see themselves and their problems realistically and to cope with them more easily.

Combined with hypnotherapy it can be used to help with deeper problems than would be addressed by someone purely qualified in hypnotherapy.

Hypno-psychotherapy uses techniques of both psychotherapy and hypnotherapy to maximise the efficacy of the therapy session.
